The Clean Water Act underlies much of the work we tackle in watershed planning. This session will provide a basic introduction to the core Act programs your work is likely to involve: water quality standards, Total Maximum Daily Loads, the 319 nonpoint source program, point source discharge permitting, and wetlands/stream alteration permitting. You'll leave this hour session with a better understanding of the goals and structure of the Act, an introduction to each of these five core programs, and information about where to learn more.
