ODNR's Division of Natural Areas and Preserves is responsible for administering the Ohio Scenic Rivers Program, which originated in 1968 with the passage of the nation's first scenic river protection legislation. The mission of the Scenic Rivers Program is to preserve the natural qualities of Ohio's finer streams so present and future generations may experience their natural beauty and values.
