We promote Renovation and Preservation of the Beneficial Uses of the Cuyahoga River

We are two organizations working together as one. The CRCPO is a non-profit, community-based organization, which provides financial support for the Cuyahoga River Remedial Action Plan. The RAP was created in 1988 by Ohio EPA, and our mission is to plan and promote the restoration of the environmental quality of the Cuyahoga River through the remediation of existing conditions and prevention of further pollution and degradation. The 39 RAP stakeholder partners include businesses, government agencies, community groups and individuals with an interest in the river.

Our Work Plan embraces a broad program of education and outreach. Our goal is to achieve an increased level of local community understanding, support and involvement for restoring and preserving the lower Cuyahoga River and its tributaries.

The American Heritage River

The CRCPO has been designated by USFS to assume the duties of River Navigator as the principle resource, point of contact and funding for the American Heritage River Initiative. The CRCPO coordinates efforts with our AHR partners to develop and implement community based projects for the entire watershed.
