Watershed(s) of Focus: Lower Muskingum (Philo to Marietta) Counties in Coverage Area: Morgan, Washington, Muskingum & Noble 348 Muskingum DrivePhone: (740) 374-4170 Email: flmr@sbcglobal.net Website: www.muskingumriver.org Profile: FLMR is now a 501(c)3 organization and is a land trust in addition to being a water quality group. Our 319 management plan for Meigs Creek (trib of Muskingum) has been endorsed and we have applied for a 319 implementation grant. We are monitoring the Muskingum and some of its tributaries. Our purpose is to improve water quality--both point and non-point source pollution. We meet with landowners along the main stem and the tributaries to explain CRP, WHIP, conservation easements and other tools of the trade. FLMR now owns 16.5 acre tract of land with 2000 ft. riverbank frontage along the Muskingum River and are working on a riverbank stabilization design. Acquisition of another 31 acres is in the pipeline. FLMR had a watershed coordinator but her year ended January 30th so our office is not currently staffed. We hope the fall VISTA program will bring us another. Listing Updated: 2007-07-24
